The cylinder is the most honest of all shapes – no distracting curves, no gesture that explains too much. And that's exactly why the V.Cylinder works everywhere. As a vase for a single branch, as a lantern for a wide candle, as an object that simply stands and makes an impact through its surface.
Because it's the surface that distinguishes the V.Cylinder. The hand-blown recycled glasscontains fine air bubbles – some barely visible, others clearly present, all unevenly distributed, all a result of handicraft. This lively inner life of the glass captures light in a way that machine-made glass never achieves: it glows, it shimmers, it changes depending on the time of day and light source.
Made from recycled glass– a material with history, given new form and future through the craft of glassmakers. The wooden mould technique, with which each piece is blown, leaves minimal deviations that make each V.Cylinder unique.
Two sizes, one character. The large V.Cylinder (18 × 18 cm)has the weight to stand alone – as a statement vase on the dining table, as a lantern with a pillar candle on the console, as an object on the floor in a corner. The small V.Cylinder (15 × 15 cm)complements, responds, flanks: on the sideboard next to the large one, on the bathroom shelf, on the bedside table. Together, they form a calm, harmonious duo – the same shape, the same material soul, two different presences.
