Designer: Sebastian Herkner

Sebastian Herkner (born 1981) from Germany studied product design at the Offenbach University of Design (HfG). During this time, he honed his sense of materials, colors, and textures, increasingly focusing on the design of furniture and objects. He supplemented his experience with a brief stint at Stella McCartney in London.

In 2006, he founded his own design studio in Offenbach. Since then, he has designed furniture, lighting, and smaller objects for global brands, as well as undertaken interior design projects and design commissions for museums and exhibitions. His remarkable works have already received numerous awards, including the IF Award, the Iconic Award, and the Elle Deco International Design Award (EDIDA).

Herkner was Guest of Honor at imm cologne 2016, where he designed the exhibition "Das Haus." In 2019, he was named Designer of the Year by Maison&Objet and, in 2021, received Milan's most prestigious design award, the EDIDA Award for Best Designer of the Year. In 2022, he curated the exhibition "Homo Faber," organized by the Michelangelo Foundation in Venice, alongside luminaries such as Robert Wilson, Judith Clarke, Michele de Lucchi, and Naoto Fukasawa.
